Long-Standing Madisonville Jewelry Store to Close Amid Market Shifts August 21, 2024 (0 comments)
Henderson, KY--After nearly 90 years of serving the Madisonville community, Clements Jewelers has announced its upcoming closure, citing challenges in competing with large retailers and the rise of online shopping.

According to a Facebook post by the jeweler, the family-run business's owners revealed that the decision was driven by a significant decline in local shopping and an increase in operational costs, including a 60% rise in repair prices over the past four years.
The store, a staple in the area since its founding, will begin a 35% off store closing sale on Wednesday. The sale will include decor, fixtures, wrapping paper, and office supplies.
Although the exact closing date has not been finalized, the store is expected to close by late September. Per the report, the owners clarified that while the main store will close, their Permanent Jewelry location will remain open and continue to serve the community.
Repairs and appraisals will no longer be accepted during the closing process.
