According to a news report, the incident involved a robbery by four criminals, who posed as Amazon delivery personnel and tricked a 75-year-old woman into opening the door. The robbers then pushed their way into the store and pistol-whipped Yuchi Lin, the 79-year-old mother of the store owner, Eva Chen, who was in charge then.

According to Chen, her mother had just arrived from Taiwan for a visit when the incident occurred. She had left her in charge of the store while she went out to get lunch. When she was away, one of the robbers, disguised as an Amazon delivery person, dropped off a package outside the door. When she opened the door, the robber ran into her and called his accomplice to come up. The accomplice then hid on a nearby flight of stairs, waiting for Lin to come out and retrieve the package. The robbers then proceeded to assault Lin and steal jewelry worth $500,000.

The NYPD has released photos of two more suspects believed to be involved in the robbery. One was seen wearing a Los Angeles Lakers sweatshirt, while the other was dressed entirely in black. The police are urging anyone with information about the suspects to come forward and help bring them to justice. The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of older adults and the need for better security measures to protect them.
