Popular Michigan Hip-Hop Jeweler Gunned Down June 02, 2022 (0 comments)
Oak Park, MI--Dan “Hutch” Hutchinson, known as the go-to jeweler for flashy diamonds and jewels to rappers and entertainers, was gunned down in his SUV about a mile from his popular jewelry retail store in this Detroit suburb, according to local Fox2 news and other media sources.
Hutch’s Jewelry is a family-owned business that for more than 30 years provided fine jewelry, chains, watches, glasses and other bejeweled accessories to customers who included Rick Ross, Icewear Vezzo, Sada Baby, BabyTron, and Doughboyz Cashout, according to the report.
The shooting reportedly happened in front of a closed pawn shop that Hutchinson also owned about a mile from his store. His SUV was marked with about dozen bullet holes, according to the report. Police reportedly say Hutchinson was approached by a suspect as he was leaving his place of business. The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after the incident. Police have not released the suspect’s name.
Officers performed CPR on the victim, and he was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the report.
