Los Angeles, CA—Chrysmela, creators of the patented secure earring back, has partnered with fashion brand Grayse of Irvine, CA on a new line of sustainable diamond-alternative earrings and earring backs. Grayse is owned by the mother and daughter duo Kelly and Marie Gray, founders of the famous high-end knitwear brand St. John. Image: Kelly Gray wearing Chrysmela-backed earrings from the Grayse collection.

The new line will feature the highest quality metals and cubic zirconia stones for the exclusive yet affordable jewelry collection. Earrings in the collection will come with Chrysmela’s patented locking mechanism, made of three microball bearings that keep earrings safe and secure.

Kelly Gray, chief design officer of Grayse, said, “I had given up wearing earrings for the last few years because I had lost so many favorites, including real diamonds. But when I found Chrysmela, I started wearing mine again, and buying new exciting ones, which inspired us to develop the Diamonds and Grayse collection.”

The Signature line ranges in price from $195 - $300 for earrings. The inaugural collection features earrings in five different styles, with three different styles of Chrysmela backs. Each style can be mixed and matched with the companion earring back, as well as the entire Chrysmela collection, which includes an array of earring jackets, including the Chrysmela Crystal Ball earring back.

Mayumi Ishii, CEO of Chrysmela said, “I am so excited to collaborate with Kelly and Marie on this new line of gorgeous and practical jewelry. Everyone deserves the fashion freedom to wear whatever jewelry they want, and look fabulous without having to lock our best pieces away in a safe.
