Rain-Soaked Spring Triggers Record $95,000 in Engagement Ring Refunds from BC Clark June 17, 2025 (0 comments)

Oklahoma City, OK--An unusually wet spring has led to the highest number of engagement ring refunds in the history of BC Clark Jewelers' "Pray for Rain" campaign, with 14 couples qualifying for full reimbursements in just two months.

The promotion, launched in 1998, offers a refund of up to $10,000 if a couple's wedding day in Oklahoma City experiences at least one inch of rainfall. According to The Journal Record, the recent stretch of storms has pushed the all-time total to 303 winning couples, with 2025 alone accounting for $95,332.65 in refunds as of June 7.
"Fourteen winning couples in less than two months is remarkable, something we have rarely seen in over 27 years," said BC Clark President Mitchell Clark in a statement quoted by The Journal Record. He added that the surge in qualifying weddings has served as "a powerful reminder of how much joy 'Pray for Rain' brings to couples and the community."
Among those receiving refunds this spring are Ty Watson and Abby Lestina, Robert Gates and Joy Spicer, and Parker Wise and Hilary Price, whose weddings coincided with 1.12 inches of rainfall recorded in the city on June 7. That day alone produced three new refund recipients, per the report.
Additional recent winners include Cory and Johnna — the 300th couple to qualify — along with Chris and Kasie, and several others dating back to April, the report noted.
With more rain forecasted to arrive in summer, BC Clark anticipates the refund total will exceed $100,000 in the coming weeks.
