According to a news report published in Fox 13, witnesses and surveillance footage report a gray Nissan Altima, bearing a white paper tag, prowling the jewelry store's parking lot around 1 p.m. Shortly afterward, a woman entered the store and browsed for a few minutes before exiting.

Per the report, she returned shortly, holding the door open for two men who accompanied her. The men were armed, one clad in a black hoodie and the other in a yellow jacket. Brandishing a hammer, the man in the hoodie shattered a display case, hastily snatching several items.

The woman aimed a firearm inside the store while the man in the yellow jacket stood at the entrance. In response, a staff member of the jewelry store reacted swiftly and bravely, pulling out their gun and firing at the suspects.

The report added that the sudden confrontation immediately prompted the trio to flee the premises. They made their getaway in their previously spotted gray Nissan Altima, with the license plate OTX4425.

The police reported that the employee's bullet hit a vacant car in the parking lot. No injuries have been reported.

The Tampa Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this incident to reach out via their contact number, 813-231-6130, or through Crimestoppers of Tampa Bay.
