The Centurion Video Series: Best Time And Work HacksMay 09, 2018 (0 comments)
|Merrick, NY—Everyone feels crunched for time today, especially in business. Following this week’s Centurion Video Series theme of saving time, I wanted to share my favorite video-watching hack to save time without losing the value of the content.
Did you know you can easily adjust the speed on the videos you watch? The “Speed” setting is found by clicking the little gear-wheel button (“Settings”) on the bottom right of your YouTube screen (see graphic below). On that menu, you can change how fast or how slow the video is delivered to you. Simply click on the “speed” line and choose your speed.
I find I can easily listen and watch at 1.5 speed, an increase of 50%. If the video speaker is especially slow, occasionally I can bump it up to 2x regular speed.
By contrast, if it’s a complex subject or you’re taking notes, you can slow down your watch speed as well. All in all, a handy tool, right there on your screen!
Look for this type of setting on other video players if it works for you. It saves me time, which I immediately spend watching the video a few times again for images and text. That shortcut helps!
Clearly it’s not just me (here’s just one article on it). Google it and you’ll see. Now, on to this week’s videos: watch on!
