As per a news report, Nicholls is the owner of Paradise Jewelry store and has decided to spend several days in July searching for gold in Alaska. The report notes that he'd be out for a 10-day trip with Gold Fever Prospecting to look for gold on the south fork of the Fortymile River.
Nicholls is only fulfilling his long-lived dream with this trip — something that'd been on his bucket list. "Life is about adventure," he said, per the report. "I'm fortunate to be in a business that is about adventure, magic, and excitement. For many years, I've also been a charter boat captain, and now I get to add a whole new chapter and adventure."
Nicholls has been handling most of the store work since opening Paradise Jewelry in 1982. A self-taught in the profession, Nicholls earned enough credibility to write a chapter about diamond selling for the Gemological Institute of America and teach gemology classes.
Upon his return, Nicholls hopes to showcase his findings in his store for clients to see what gold looks like when it's raw. He's also interested in visual presentations for local groups around finding gold and what to do with it. He also says he'd like to use the gold he brings in for some custom jewelry.
