Annapolis, MD--Zachary’s Jewelers has introduced a new $5,000 small business grant aimed at supporting community-minded enterprises across Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas. According to the report by Eye On Annapolis, the initiative will award a single grant to one business that demonstrates a clear commitment to its community, employees, and values-driven practices.

“For more than 30 years, we’ve been fortunate to grow alongside a vibrant network of small business owners right here in our community,” said Steve Samaras, owner of Zachary’s Jewelers. “This grant is our way of honoring their impact and paying forward the support we’ve received since our very first day.”

According to the report, the application process is open to businesses across sectors, not limited to retail, and centers on a core question reflective of the jeweler’s broader mission: “What more can we do to bring humanity to retail?” Applicants are expected to provide a brief narrative describing their business model, approach to employee culture, community involvement, and how the grant would be used to further their impact.

The initiative draws partial inspiration from COO Constance Polamalu’s recent visit to Botswana, where she observed the work of the Diamonds Do Good initiative—a global effort that promotes community development through responsible diamond sourcing. “This experience reminded us that business has the power to do so much more than sell a product,” Polamalu said in the report. “It can be a platform for real, lasting impact — and we want to recognize others who are living that belief every day.”

According to the report, applications will be accepted until July 1. Full program details and eligibility criteria are available on the official Zachary’s Jewelers website at www.zacharysjewelers.com.
