Long Beach, CA—Whether you're a seasoned employee or a brand-new hire just for the holidays, it's always good to have a quick refresher on what not to do when your customers come in.

It's a given to be upbeat and cheerful and greet your customers. But there are other things that you should remember as well. Click here for an interesting list from Bob Phibbs, aka The Retail Doctor. You may find one item that you'd forgotten about, and paying attention to that one may bring you greater sales. For example, his item #13: “Saying, ‘No problem’ is a problem. It sounds condescending like, ‘it’s just you – I’d do the same for my dog.’ ‘You’re welcome’ is the ‘A’ answer.” Or the ever-present reminder that Christmas music is playing for the customers, so don’t complain about it. Those are my favorites. I'm sure you'll find yours.
