Green Bay, WI--Rejection is an inevitable part of retail. You must develop a resilience to rejection and perhaps more importantly, an ambivalence to it.

Don’t take it personally, rather go back to your key questions and perhaps the most important one, What’s important to you? If we’re getting rejection or ambivalence, it’s very likely we don’t know the answer to that one important question. But also realize that you can’t win ‘em all and you just have to let it roll off your back, pick yourself up and go love on the next customer. People often have things going on inside their head that not even they themselves understand. So don’t take it personally. One way to build up your resilience is to focus on your goals. Take your focus off the fuddy duddy customer and move on with your daily goals in mind. Hit your daily goals and you'll hit your weekly, monthly and annual sales goals.
