Merrick, NY—In our ongoing series titled One Great Thing I Did Last Year (That You Can Do This Year)," The Centurion asks retailers to tell us about one outstanding thing they did in 2014 that turned out really well. This week, Olivia Cornell of Cornell’s Jewelers in Rochester, NY, shares her insight.

“One great thing we did last year was join a Plexus Performance Group, and start utilizing the Balance to Buy Inventory Management system,” says Cornell. Her new system works with Cornell’s existing Point of Sale system. The result?

“The information that we now have at our fingertips allows us to have better insight into what is happening in real time and how to better manage our inventory, margins, turn and GMROI,” she says. And the best part? “We are able to access and run reports lighting fast,” says Cornell. After all, there’s nothing better than fast, accurate data, especially on gross margin return on investment numbers.
