A report by the company notes that the emergence of multiple social media platforms has provided alternatives to sellers concerned with refining their social media strategy to reach a specific demographic.

For example, TikTok is testing e-commerce in the U.S. market — a feature only available in the U.K. and parts of Southeast Asia. Select U.S. businesses were invited to participate in the program, while the feature is expected to roll out to other businesses.

Instagram is trying a different approach to drive sales through its platform. According to the report, a company memo revealed that the company plans to test a less personalized shopping feature called "Tab Lite" while focusing more on driving sales through eCommerce.

The report recommends that small businesses should try to branch out to multiple platforms instead of rethinking social media strategies for a smoother sales experience.
