Minneapolis, MN—“All things being equal, people buy from those they know, like and trust.” This popular sales adage is dead wrong, says author and sales trainer Jill Konrath (left), and moreover, she says it’s the stupidest sales advice she’s ever heard.
Why? Because unless you're selling commodities, nothing is ever equal--and even beyond that, our job, as sellers, is to make things unequal, she writes on her blog. And for jewelers doing their best to ensure that diamonds are not treated like a commodity, that’s sound advice.
