Sales Strategy
Which Sales Personality Are You? March 02, 2016 (0 comments)
Merrick, NY—Are you a buddy, a networker, or a guru? There are probably as many ways to be a successful salesperson as there are sales trainers who will tell you their way is the best way. In the end, what it boils down to is finding the strategy that works best for your personality, because if there’s one thing that successful salespeople do have in common, it’s authenticity that their customers feel comfortable trusting.
This article on About.com identifies five types of sales approaches:
- The Instant Buddy tries to connect on an emotional level with the customer.
- The Guru is prefers logic to emotion and sets out to become expert in everything related to their position.
- The Consultant combines both buddy and guru traits to present herself as an expert who has the customer’s best interest in mind.
- The Networker maintains a vast web of friends, co-workers, industry colleagues, customers, former customers and colleagues, etc., creating an ongoing flow of warm leads.
- Finally, the Hard Seller who manipulates the customer into buying is the to-be-avoided employee that gives salespeople their stereotypical bad reputation. Sadly, they still exist, but the other four strategies are the ones to cultivate for your company, says the article.
