Waco, TX--Over a month has passed since the audacious theft at Boozer’s Jewelers on June 17, yet no substantial leads have emerged. The store suffered a severe blow when two armed and disguised robbers carried out a daring daylight heist, making off with an estimated $1.7 million in jewelry.

A report by KWTX stated that in an attempt to accelerate the investigation, Brad Boozer, the owner of Boozer’s Jewelers, is now offering a $50,000 reward from his funds for any information that leads to the apprehension of the perpetrators and the recovery of his merchandise.

The robbery occurred at the intersection of Lake Air and Valley Mills just before the store's closing time, saw two employees zip-tied while another was coerced into emptying the display cases. Within 18 minutes, nearly $2 million in jewelry had been stolen.

Despite the setback, the store is now open and operational, thanks to the support from vendors who supplied some merchandise. However, Boozer admitted that the store is functioning at around 25% of its usual inventory.

As per the report, Waco police investigators, despite their efforts, remain stumped. The robbers were well-disguised in gloves and masks, leaving no clear identity clues behind. Boozer expressed his disbelief that the perpetrators managed to exit the busy scene unnoticed.

Boozer estimates that the robbers made off approximately 93% of his store inventory, including valuable diamond rings and necklaces. The store is insured, but the owner anticipates a potentially long, drawn-out process to resolve the claim.

As he seeks to rebuild a business that took him a lifetime to establish, Boozer hopes that the offered reward and exposure from media interviews might lead to a breakthrough in the case.

At this point, police have a vague description of the culprits — a Black man and a Black woman who fled in a greenish-blue compact hatchback, possibly a Toyota model.

Anyone who witnessed anything unusual at the intersection of Valley Mills and Lake Air on the afternoon of June 17 is urged to contact Waco police at 254-750-7500.
