Brooklyn Jewelry Store Featured On List Of Favorite Woman-Owned Businesses Nationwide March 03, 2021 (0 comments)
Brooklyn, NY—Catbird, the New York jewelry boutique popular with Millennials and Gen-Z, was the only jeweler out of 32 businesses named to Women of Complex: Our Favorite Women-Owned Businesses list on lifestyle site Complex.com.
Complex, an online lifestyle site, observed that while many people have heard of the successful female celebrity entrepreneurs, countless women across the United States have launched businesses despite facing more obstacles than their male peers. For instance, it’s often harder for women to get a business loan, which is why female-owned businesses account for only about 20% of the U.S. total. But of those, almost all are small businesses.
Complex’s staff picked their favorite 32 women-owned businesses across the United States, including hair salons, bookstores, bakeries, yoga studios, and much more.
Jocelyn Carrington, Complex.com’s director of content operations, wrote “Founded by Rony Vardi, the Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s Catbird is exactly what any Millennial or Gen-Z-er would want in a jewelry store. Ethically sourced diamonds and gold. Pieces hand-crafted in the shop’s Brooklyn studio. Unique, delicate, and subtle styling you won’t find in a national chain. And while Catbird may not be the least expensive option in the city, the jewelry is beautiful, timeless, and worth every penny.”
