Jewelers’ Security Alliance Releases 2021 Annual Crime Report July 11, 2022 (0 comments)
New York, NY--Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA) released its 2021 annual crime report, which revealed losses from crimes against U.S. jewelry firms at $70.1 million in 2021, a decrease from $83.2 million in 2020.
The report said that in 2021, the total number of crimes stood at 1,687 — a decrease of 1.8% from 2020.
Per the report, grab and run incidents increased by around 45%. The total number of smash-and-grab robberies in 2021 stood at 85.
The number of on-premise burglaries also declined in 2021, which as per the report was due to fewer incidents of looting and civil unrest.
