Gastonia, N.C.--A local jewelry store owner became the victim of a robbery, kidnapping, and shooting, prompting a search for the perpetrators.
Gastonia Police have initiated an investigation following the violent incident, leading to an urgent appeal for witnesses.
Per a report in Queen City News, the sequence of events on January 31 began with a robbery at the jewelry store, which, according to Belmont Police, was intrinsically linked to a subsequent crime at approximately 8:21 p.m. at a residence on Amberley Crossing Drive.
The incident saw the store owner confronted by four individuals concealed with ski masks, who proceeded to rob and shoot him before abducting him to his Belmont home.
Upon their arrival at the scene, emergency responders swiftly transported the victim to CaroMont Regional Medical Center, where he received medical attention for a gunshot wound to his back.
While the victim's condition is currently under wraps, law enforcement officials are piecing together the events, with all signs pointing to the assailants having fled the area.
The Belmont Police Department has issued a call for anyone with information about the crime to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
