Rough diamond sourcing and trading have historically been an important part of LKI’s global operations, both as a self-standing profit center and a source of raw material for production of the Lazare Diamond, trademarked as ‘the world’s most beautiful diamond.’ This appointment adds strength at a time when rough sourcing is an increasingly important aspect of the business.”

Separately, the firm on Feb. 8 announced the appointment of Erez Ben-Shushan as coordinator of international manufacturing. He reports to Charlie Rosario, senior vice president at the company’s New York headquarters.

"LKI will continue to expand cutting operations in Southern Africa.
