According to a news report, the new store is an upgrade with more foot traffic.
"We are fortunate that the people who bought the building came to us, they wanted a quality core tenant," said Seaman Schepps owner and president Anthony Hopenhajm in the news report. "We looked at the space, and it was very interesting with two levels and four times the size of our old store. It's on a corner, and we have 30 feet of frontage on Madison."
Hopenhajm added in the report that the reopening brings the "excitement" of returning to a life they left behind. "I think people are socializing more, and Americans like to consume — whether it's fine foods or fine jewelry," he told the outlet. "So it's really great to now have most of our clients within a 10 to 15-block radius of the store."
The new space, per the report, spreads over 1600-square-foot and has enough room to display the company's entire collection. Hopenhajm said that the design took eight months to complete. He didn't want it to be a fussy place but rather to give a "calm" impression of entering someone's living room designed in "elegant soft blue with pale oak material."
Hopenhajm hopes the new store will complement Seaman Schepps' long history in the city. Seaman Schepps' other long-running outlets are in Nantucket, Mass., and Palm Beach, Fla.
