On May 14 at approximately 11:08 a.m. a car crashed through the front door of Prairie Jewelers (image, Jamie Fish via WKOW-TV), a custom jeweler located in a strip center in Sun Prairie, a suburb of Madison, WI. Sun Prairie Fire & Rescue responded, along with police and EMS. Two patients needed to be extricated from the vehicle, while jeweler and store owner Art Fish and a customer were unharmed but trapped in the interior of the building and needed to be helped out. The two occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Inspectors determined that the building did not suffer any significant structural damage, but it will need an estimated $15,000 in repairs, according to a report on WKOW-TV27, the local ABC affiliate.
