Marks Jewelers Featured On TV Ahead Of Valentine’s Day; Highlights Creative Sales Strategies February 10, 2021 (0 comments)
Montgomeryville, PA—There’s an old saying in the publishing world: “Advertising you pay for, editorial you pray for.” Image: Jim Brusilovsky, owner of Marks Jewelers.
It’s no different in the world of television, except that the cost of a 30- or even 15-second TV ad spot on one of the major networks in a major TV market is often beyond the reach of many independent jewelers.
But Marks Jewelers in Montgomeryville, PA, got very lucky when the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia decided to feature the jeweler in its “In The Name Of Love” series about supporting small businesses throughout the region.
Marks owner Jim Brusilovsky did a 3:30 minute virtual interview with NBC10’s Lucy Bustamante, which was broadcast on February 9. He outlined all the creative ways the jeweler has adapted to selling in the pandemic, including not just curbside pickup but installing lockers outside the store for customers who want a 100% touchless interaction.
Marks has, of course, amped up its digital commerce as have many better jewelers. The 15,000 square-foot showroom has ample room for social distancing, and the jeweler takes customer temperatures upon entering, along with requiring masks and hand sanitizer use. (Pennsylvania state law also requires masks to be worn inside any public establishment.)
For those still wary of in-person shopping, the store’s website offers a virtual tour of the store (including its famous “Diamond Diner”) as well as of course a comprehensive e-commerce presentation of its products and services.
Brusilovsky also outlined some of the store’s special services for NBC10 viewers, such as custom design or remaking an old piece, and highlighted its “one-stop shopping” promotion for Valentine’s Day. From February 1-14 while supplies last, anyone who spends $99 or more will also get a box of chocolates and a bouquet of roses from the jeweler, saving a trip to the candy store and the florist.
